  • Sensei Art Promoted To Shichidan (7th Degree Black Belt)

    Sunday was a very very special day at Tozai Sword School. Sensei Art McConnell was admitted into the Kokusai Bugei Kessha (International Bugei Society). And also awarded the rank of Shichidan 7th degree Black Belt Iai-Jitsu. It was an honor to be there for the ceremony and a long time coming for Sensei Art. Congratulations!     Thank you for visiting the Kokusai Bugei Kessha(International Bugei Society). Kokusai Bugei Kessha is an international martial arts organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of traditional Japanese budo and bujutsu throughout the world. The Long Island Budokai is the honbu dojo for KBK, and is a branch dojo of the All Japan Budo federation Nippon Seibukan Academy U.S.A. branch. In turn is a member of the Zen Nihon Sogo Budo Renmei, an umbrella federation consisting over 20 martial arts grous in the Kansai region.

    IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: The Kokusai Bugei Kessha is it\’s own entity, and has no affiliation with any other organization calling itself an International Bugei Society, the European Bugei Society, South American Bugei Society, nor any Bugei Society in North America.

    Watching with my brother

    My father guides me.

     

    Wide open maelstrom

    Crows gaming in the white sky

    Death falls like cold stones.

     

    Greening ever green

    Sweet plums drip golden dew drops

    Worms warm in the sun.

     

    One thousand fingers

    Blinding an opponents sight

    One hand curls like death.

     

    My hand is my sword

    It strikes with perfect movement

    Training gives me peace.

     

    Palms upturned tremble

    Fist becomes a stone temple
